FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Liberal International posted on Linkedin that it was delighted to announce that during her mission in Singapore, Dr. Hakima Elhaité, President of Liberal International, had the distinct honour of having a centenary orchid named after her—Hakima Elhaite.
Here is a message from our president upon receiving this prestigious recognition:
“It is with profound emotion that I announce the honour of having the centenary orchid bestowed with my name: Hakima Elhaite—a true recognition that touches me deeply. What an incredible honour!
I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to Singapore, a place where beauty and innovation intertwine, as well as to Merlene Toh Emerson MBE FRSA a LibDem friend, whose unwavering faith in me has continually inspired my journey forward. I am also grateful to the horticulturist who chose to link this magnificent flower to my name, a choice laden with the symbolic weight of wisdom.
Wisdom, indeed, is a precious virtue—a beacon that guides our actions and decisions. In a world often shaken by uncertainty and conflict, it is essential that we cultivate this quality. Wisdom enables us to act with discernment, to understand one another, and to build bridges rather than walls.
May wisdom become the foundation upon which we construct a better future—a world where empathy, understanding, and mutual respect prevail. Let us cultivate this virtue together, for a world imbued with wisdom is one in which every individual can fully thrive.”
